Open and Affirming (ONA) is a designation within the United Church of Christ that acknowledges a congregation's intentional welcome to those who have been ignored or shunned by the church. It is a process that involves a time of education, study and discernment before a congregation votes on a statement that expresses their commitment to be truly welcoming to everyone.
